Having lost one parent the ravages of cancer, I wasn't sure whether having that experience would be helpful or horrible when my mom received her terminal cancer diagnosis last fall.
Because the unknown was so devastating to deal with during my dad's illness, I was somewhat optimistic that this time would be a tiny bit easier.
It's not.
