We are so blessed to come through Hurricane Rita relatively unscathed. George and my kitties are safe, and we only have minimal outdoor damage at our home. The power is out and don't have an estimate when it will return. No water damage or flooding in our area, amazingly enough.
They are trying to stage the return of evacuees so we don't have a repeat of the horrible traffic jams that occurred during the evacuation. We will be permitted to return on Monday and we can stay here in Austin until then with no problems.
I am so grateful that we were spared and I am praying for those who were not as fortunate.
